Chelmsford Council has unanimously backed the Liberal Democrats, who called for radiotherapy facilities to be provided at Broomfield Hospital.

"At present patients from Chelmsford have to travel to Colchester or Southend for treatment which can have adverse effects. Treatment needs to be completed at their local hospital" said Cllr Freda Mountain.

Residents can have their say, as the consultation documents have now been published and can be viewed on www.midessex.nhs.uk or attend the Chelmsford Baptist Church, Lower Hall, Victoria Road South, Chelmsford on April 20th from 2pm to 4.30pm (drop-in) or 6.30-8.30pm - Discussion Workshop.
