Chelmsford market bus stops improve; local action on parking

31 Jul 2014

After nearly two years of pressure, major refurbishment work is now being undertaken at the bus stops next to Chelmsford market. A resident of The Avenues has been pursuing senior managers at Chelmsford Council to get the work done, and has been backed by Cllr. Stephen Robinson.

Parking near Chelmsford County High School
Cllr Paul Bentham has been liaising with residents of Elms Drive about parents of CCHS who park on the double yellow lines and will be speaking to the Parking Manager. Stephen Robinson has successfully persuaded the Local Highways Panel to pay for Keep Clear markings in Broomfield Road in front of the Keene Memorial homes.

Chasing up the bus companies
Lib Dem Cllr. John Hunnable has been chasing the bus managers about unreliable buses, in particular the 51, which is often late or cancelled. The 54 bus is going to be adjusted to use Trent Road, which should offer an additional choice locally.
