Extension for Trinity Road School
Last September, delighted Year 6 students at Trinity Road School moved into two spacious new classrooms, part of an impressive new extension that also includes a multi-purpose lunch hall and several smaller teaching rooms.
In addition the Early Years area inside the main building has been
completely remodelled to make it perfect for the youngest children
to make a great start.
Trinity Councillor Julia Frascona, Deputy Leader of Chelmsford City Council Marie Goldman and Essex County Councillor Mike Mackrory were at the official opening in November. They spoke to children and staff, who were all thrilled by the facilities now available to them, the tremendous improvement in their working environment and the opportunities for learning this created.
The Education Authority, Essex County Council, paid for most of the extension as more space was needed to expand the school intake. However, Chelmsford City Council was keen to ensure that
innovative ideas stayed in the plans when budget constraints would have led to them being cut, so topped up the building funds with one million pounds of money collected from developers. This means that the building uses the latest technology to be as efficient and effective as possible; classrooms for the future indeed!
