Councillors Jennie Lardge and Jude Deakin inspecting fixed street lighting

Working street lights are essential for keeping our parks and walkways lit during the winter months. A resident raised concerns to Cllrs Nora Walsh and Jennie Lardge about a number of lights not working in Central Park and alongside Marconi Ponds.

The councillors quickly contacted Chelmsford City Council and Essex County Council about the problems. They were pleased to see the lights in Central Park, under the care of the Lib Dem-run City Council, quickly had power restored. Unfortunately the problems with the lights controlled by the Conservative-run County Council were slower to be repaired. Jennie and Nora worked with County Cllr Jude Deakin to chase them and are happy to report the lights are now working again.
