Petition to fix broken pavements
Chelmsford residents are being seriously injured after tripping and falling on broken pavements. Some have even been hospitalised and required operations. Apart from causing residents distress, it’s also costly for the tax payer.
Research shows that an ambulance trip can cost nearly £400, while treatment at A&E can cost anywhere between £86 and £418. A GP appointment costs £42. Add to this the cost to the economy caused by days off work as people recover from their injuries and we can see how the public purse also suffers as a consequence.
We need broken pavements fixed now, so that all residents are safe walking in our city and to prevent the hidden costs of injuries caused by pavement neglect.
