We are pleased to say that pavements in Dunlin Way & Westway have finally been repaired after chasing our Essex County Council representative for the last six months. The residents of these streets are delighted and feeling safer on their daily walks.

City Council leader Stephen Robinson commented, "Many more roads and pavements across Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers really need full resurfacing like this, but that's not going to happen following Conservative budget cuts."

Essex County Council is slashing the road maintenance budget: Their budget allows £46 million in 2023-24; £39m in 2024/25, £25m in 2025/26 and £21m in 2026/27. The budget for footway maintenance has been cut from £12m to £8m and the budget for minor (Highway Panels) schemes has been cut from £4.2m last year to £3.4m this year (ten years ago it was £8m). Donna and Terry will continue to push for more of the damaged roads and pavements in SOuth Woodham to be prioritised.
